Google Workspace

A note about YouTube: Some videos that have not been categorized in YouTube could be restricted for student use. All teachers have the ability to "approve" a video for use with our district. This would make it available to students. We are leaving this judgment up to all teachers. In most cases, we do not have restrictions on student videos so you would not need to approve anything, but if your students are having problems watching a video, then approving it should allow it to be viewed by them.

TECH TIP - How to Set a Google File to Force a Copy

Did you know you can set a Google Doc, Slides, etc. to automatically make a copy so the user can edit in their own Drive (and your original file stays unchanged)?

*NOTE* Google Classroom has a setting for this as well. You would use the following instructions if you are sharing a file outside of Google Classroom.

  1. Open the file.

  2. Click Share.

  3. Select “Anyone with the link can view”.

  4. Copy the link.

  5. Highlight the section where it says edit and everything after that.

  1. Replace that with the word “copy”.

  1. Check your work by pasting the link into your browser. If it prompts you to make a copy, you are all set!
